When someone promises you the world, be careful about agreeing to the world in which that someone wants you to live. So many people are swept up in the fantasy of Happily Ever After with that “someone special” only to find themselves existing in a living hell. One such person was Crystal McCrory.
A devoted Christian, wife, and mother, Crystal exuded a light and warmth that touched everyone she knew, friends, family, and strangers alike. She spent her entire life making others happy with her silly jokes, elaborate pranks, generous compliments, and thoughtful gifts. And when she met Tony, the man who would eventually become her husband, it seemed theirs was a storybook kind of love most people always dream of.
…Until it wasn’t.
Eventually, Crystal would find herself trapped in a dysfunctional relationship built of isolation and verbal abuse. And then one day, Crystal woke up feeling under the weather and scheduled a doctor’s appointment … a doctor’s visit that she never showed up to.
She was found in her home later that day with a gunshot wound to her head. Her death was quickly ruled a suicide. And the discrepancies in the investigation of what really happened to Crystal are almost too astounding to believe.
So, what REALLY happened to Crystal McCrory—the woman with the magnetic, infectious, and irresistible personality, the mom, who was fun, funny, and spontaneous, and seemingly had so much in her life to live for, despite the marital strife her husband had been putting her through, and why did authorities do such a terrible job at trying to find the truth?
Beneath the vibrant life she led, Crystal’s was a story left unfinished—a mystery that has yet to be solved.
The circumstances surrounding her death raise more questions than answers, and to this day, her family is still searching for the truth. Will justice ever come for Crystal McCrory?
