MYSTERIOUS DEATH: Lisanne Froon & Kris Kremers

Two weeks into a 6-week adventure in Panama, 21-year-old Kris Kremers and 22-year-old Lisanne Froon left their host family’s house for a hike on the Pianista trail. What shouldn’t have taken more than a few hours turned into a nightmare for the girls’ families.

Kris and Lisanne never returned from their hike, and a portion of their belongings and remains were found in a nearby river.

Officials ruled their deaths as accidental, despite the evidence found in their recovered backpack.

A decade later, Kris and Lisanne’s last days alive still remain a mystery.
